About Shorewood, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Shorewood began as a fishing and resort area and has grown in to a lovely village.  It is located in northeastern Illinois, not far from Chicago.  With a population of about 15,000 residents, it is a small suburban escape from the urban hustle and bustle.  Though it’s not like Chicago in lots of ways, its weather is similar; cold in the winter, warm in the summer and a bit windy. It’s a small suburban town ideal for raising a family.  Located along the Dupage River, it is both lovely, and peaceful.

As one would imagine with Shorewood being a family-friendly river city, spring and summer are fun-filled.  You can check out the Dupage River Trail, soak up some Vitamin D, get exercise and allow your kids to play outdoors.  When winter rolls in and it gets chilly, you may not want to go hiking or biking.  But, no worries! There is still plenty to do.  Movie-making classes, ballet and  “Mommy and Me” classes are just a few of the classes and activities put on by the city to keep people out and about and socializing no matter the weather.

Shorewood is not far from Chicago but is also adjacent to Aurora, Illinois.  This is the second largest city in the state and offers attractions such as the Aurora Historical Society, SciTech Interactive Science Museum and more.  They are great indoor attractions that will keep you entertained when the weather is too cold, or too hot, to be outdoors.  If you love pop culture, it is worth mentioning that this town was a filming site for Wayne’s World and that the White Castle where they worked is still there to go check out! Rock on!

Scenes from the Kevin Bacon film, “Stir of Echoes” were also filmed in the area.  They were set within the Rialto Square Theatre in downtown Joliet. If you saw the theatre you would understand why it is consistently listed as one of the most beautiful theatres in the country.  As a matter of fact, it is nicknamed “The Jewel of Joliet.” So, if film history is your “thing” then you will have some pretty cool attractions to check out no matter what the weather outdoors.
